Latehar: In a raid conducted at a house in Rehmat Nagar under Balumath Police Station area of this district opium husk worth about Rs 40 lakh was recovered and four vehicles including SUVs were also seized from the spot.
Police sources said that a police team led by SDPO Nitin Khandelwal conducted the raid in the midnight at the house of one Suleman Miyan during which the recovery was made. However, the accused along with his son managed to flee from the spot. The SDPO said that somehow the people got to know about the raid and they managed to flee from the spot. He said that the cost of the opium is expected to be Rs 40 lakh in the international market.
