Jamshedpur: An elephant was run over by a speeding train on the Howrah- Tatanagar rail section of the East Singhbhum district.
The body of the elephant was spotted by the villagers who alerted the railway and police officials.
As the news spread people from the neighbouring villages gathered on the spot. Ranger Ashok Kumar Singh that the incident took place near Sunsunia railway gate.
He said the elephant was run over by Howrah-Koraput Express. He said that the elephant had got separated from his group and had come near the track and got run over by the train.
