Law student gang rape case: 11 held guilty, punishment to be announced on March 2

Ranchi: A local court in the state capital held 11 out of 12 accused guilty in connection with the gang rape of a Law student and has set March 2 as the date of announcement of punishment.

One of the accused is a minor whose hearing is being held in the Juvenile Justice Board.
 

The incident of gang rape had taken place on November 26, 2019 and FIR, in this case, was registered on the next day on November 27.

The victim in her complaint had said that she was sitting with her friend at Sangrampur Bus Stand when she was forcibly taken away by a group of youth.

She was later taken a brick kiln where she was gang-raped by the youths. After the FIR in the case was registered on November 27 police arrested a total of 16 youths out of which 12 themselves confessed of their crime. A forensic report later also confirmed that 12 of them had raped the girl.
