Dhanbad: A local court in this district has awarded life imprisonment to a youth who had murdered a minor in case of a one-sided love affair that had taken place in Matkuria of this district in 2017.
The court of ADJ Rajeev Kumar Sinha (Third) awarded the punishment to Sulekh alias Surekh in the case and also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him. The court had earlier on February 22 held the youth guilty in the case.
The convict Surekh had on August 29, 2017 stabbed to death a girl whom he had a liking for but despite his repeated attempts the girl had refused his proposal and had informed her parents due to which he got angry and in the night of August 29 he attacked the girl with a sharp-edged weapon due to which she died in the incident while her brother who was sleeping in the same room also sustained serious injuries.
