Villagers block traffic on Ramgarh-Bokaro road as woman killed by speeding four wheeler

Ramgarh (By our correspondent): A 25 year old woman lost her life after she was hit by a speeding SUV at Mahlidih village under Sadar Police Station area of this district. Post the incident the driver managed to flee leaving the vehicle behind. Miffed over the incident the local villagers and the family members of the woman blocked traffic movement on the Ramgarh-Bokaro road for more than
four hours. Later the officials of the local administration reached on the spot and gave Rs 20,000 as immediate compensation after which the agitation was called off.

The deceased has been identified as Savita Devi. The woman after picking up vegetables from her farm was going to Petarwar to sell her produce. She was waiting on the roadside for a passenger vehicle when she was hit by the SUV due to which she died on the spot.
