Babulal Marandi all set to be elected as leader of legislature wing of BJP

Ranchi: Former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi is all set to be elected as the leader of the legislature wing of the BJP.

On February 17 in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah Mr Marandi had merged his regional outfit Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik with the BJP. The meeting of the legislature wing of the BJP has been scheduled at the party office located at Harmu in which unanimously Mr Marandi will be elected as leader of the legislature wing of the party.

The party has instructed all its MLAs to be present for the meeting. National BJP president JP Nadda has appointed national general secretary P Murlidhar Rao as the central observer for the election of the leader of the legislature wing leader of the BJP who will be reaching Ranchi on Monday morning while national general secretary of party Arun Singh and national vice president OP Mathur reached the capital on Sunday.

For the nomination of district unit Chiefs, the party has made five divisional level committees in which four people including an MP, MLA, a former MLA and office bearer has been included.

All leaders have been given the responsibility of the away districts. The members of the committee will be residing in the districts, hold meetings and then finalize the three names from each district and it is expected that in the next 15 days their names will be declared.

BJP sources said that the three national leaders of the party will also hold discussions with the state unit over the appointment of state unit chief of the party and also on the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. It is expected that after the election of Leader of Legislature wing of the party any day the name of state unit Chief will be declared.
